Illustrative Core Pin: Recovering an Incomplete Drawing
Illustrative engineering scenario — not a customer project or measured production result. This hypothetical brief explains questions that can arise during drawing review. It does not describe a completed SUUXIANG order.
Replacement tooling parts often arrive with an old sample or partial drawing. The key engineering task is to separate measured observations from design intent before making a copy.
Hypothetical drawing brief
Imagine a worn core pin whose original drawing is incomplete. A sample is available, but its tip has wear and the mating insert has been repaired previously. The buyer needs a replacement discussion, not an automatic reverse-engineering promise. This example is hypothetical and does not claim a SUUXIANG customer project.
Questions before quotation
Which original dimensions are known from an approved document, and which measurements come from the worn sample? Is the tip geometry functional, venting-related or a product of wear? What material, heat treatment and finish are required? Are there cavity-to-cavity differences? Should a new approved drawing be created before production?
Possible manufacturing route
The team could start with a condition and drawing review, compare the sample to the mating features, and mark every uncertain dimension for buyer approval. If a drawing is approved, a possible route would then be selected among turning, milling, grinding, EDM and secondary finishing according to shape and material condition. These are options, not claims about how a real part was made.
Inspection and release discussion
Inspection should distinguish drawing-controlled dimensions from reference measurements and should address fit only with an agreed method. The buyer should approve the revision and any inferred feature before release. A first sample can be reviewed against those acceptance criteria; no service-life or production-yield result is predicted.
Apply this to your actual part
A real process plan can be proposed only after the current drawing, model, revision, material, quantity and acceptance requirements are reviewed. No tolerance, cost, lead time or performance result is implied by this example. Contact SUUXIANG with your project brief.
